At Mill Dam School we offer a wide range of additional activities and experiences to enrich the curriculum. This includes clubs, visits, special events and participation in trust, local and National events.
Clubs
During 2024 -25 we are offering the following clubs:
- choir
- band
- colouring
- board games
- netball
- yoga
- STEM
- dance
These may change and more may be added as the year progresses. Please check MCAS and newsletters for updates.
Visits
Each term every class has the opportunity to attend at least one external visit or experience a visitor to school. These are often directly linked to their curriculum learning. During KS2 all children have the opportunity to attend a residential or extended day visit. These operate on a 4 year rolling cycle and include:
- Castleton to study a contrasting rural locality
- Boggle Hole to study a coastal locality
- Kinsgwood to develop team building skills and experience adventurous activities
- London to visit the Houses of Parliament
Other events
We offer Forest School teaching to all children during the course of the year.
We participate in local community events with the group of local schools such as litter picking and charity concerts.
We take part in a range of trust events including sporting and performance.
Our school council contribute to the Waterton Parliament.
Our eco council work alongside councils from other Waterton Schools.
Our reading ambassadors help to choose books for our library and classrooms.
We support National charities such as Children in Need.
